Weekend Intensive Training

"What an amazing experience. Thank you for introducing me to the world of hospice care. You were right. The weekend was life-changing for me." Anne, Englewood, CO
"In my 26 years of nursing, I have never before been through any course that was more thought-provoking. The Twilight Brigade training helped me get in touch with my own feelings around death, hospice and loss, and taught me how to put myself in my patients' place or position. I think I can do my job so much better now."
Liz Pizzuti, Broomfield, CO May 3, 2013

The Twilight Brigade training is a dynamic 20-hour seminar that follows Medicare and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization guidelines. Anyone wishing to learn more about the needs of the dying may attend.

There is no requirement to volunteer. However, if you wish to become a Twilight Brigade volunteer at a VA near you, you must first complete The Twilight Brigade Training. Training sessions are conducted at our National Chapters and affliate locations. To learn more or to register for a training please review our Training Schedule or contact your local Twilight Brigade Chapter or Affiliate.

The cost to attend is $200 per person ($150 for veterans). We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that would love to offer the course for free to communities. We are currently raising funds to do so. We want to share the weekend intensive training with everyone.
During the training class you'll learn....
  • How To Provide Unconditional Positive Regard
  • How To Be Present in the Moment of Death
  • How To Sincerely Listen While Refraining From Problem Solving
  • How To Facilitate the Life Review With an Emphasis on Appreciation and Closure
  • How to Maintain Privacy and Confidentiality
  • How To Confront and Examine the Fears Surrounding Death and Dying
  • How To Be a Loving Source of Support and Strength Through the Dying Process
At some point in life almost everyone will be a hospice volunteer; for yourself or for someone you love.

The Twilight Brigade Training is practical, inspirational and full of the things everyone needs to know before they go.
